The overall purpose of this project was to conduct a feasibility and business case analysis of the Marathon pulp mill facility that would:

·         provide the Town of Marathon and the United Steelworkers with an understanding of the mill’s potential viability either as a pulp mill and / or as a processing facility that converts forest and potentially other resources into such alternative outputs as biofuels, biopolymers, biochemicals, other bioproducts and / or electricity;

·         inform decision‐making by the Town and the USW with regard to potential purchase of the mill;  

·         help the Town and the USW assess the potential viability and implications of a possible purchase of the mill by a another investor.
