Mission to Wood Energy Solutions

Butler-Consultants took part in the Mission to Koli, Finland which was organized by the Canadian Bio-energy association.

It was the perfect opportunity to see the present and future of wood-to-energy engineering, equipment, and expertise. This mission to this Conference/Trade Show/Tour in Finland and Russia was to introduce us to Europe’s leading bio-energy experts and entrepreneurs, show us Finland’s state-of-the-art district energy and supply chain operations, and explain how district energy can work in Canadian communities.

In the bioenergy conference we learned how EU countries have dealt with obstacles that currently face Canadian bioenergy development; At the trade show we saw the latest in wood fuel harvesting, transport, storage, drying & management, and boiler technology (small to large CHP solutions including Gasek's new small power module); we participated in B2B sessions with Finnish companies.
